RaftHello, I am Matthew Rascoff.
My kids ride to Oak Knoll Elementary in Menlo Park, California.
We ride together with our neighbors in a bike bus. My commute is the best part of my day. If you drop off your kids at school, it can be the same for you.
Raft is the app I built to help set up a bike bus in your neighborhood. You enter your address and school and it proposes a meeting point for you, your kids, and your neighbors. It gives a departure time, working backwards from the school bell. It routes along residential streets and lets you adjust the route if you want. It reads the school district's calendar and it runs a chaperone rota, so families can take turns riding with the neighborhood kids.
Please write me at feedback@raftbikebus.com if you have bugs, improvements, or comments. I hope you enjoy this app.
Raft is free and there is nothing to buy. Maps and routing come from OpenStreetMap and BRouter. What it stores about you, and who can see it, is set out on the privacy page.
